André Claire :
- Born educated and got his Engineering degree (INSA Lyon) in France
- Bilingual, landed in Canada in 1981, became Professional Engineer ( PEO) in 82, taxpayer of Tiny in 83 and Canadian Citizen in 84
- Retired and established full residence in Tiny in 2001
- Ran – and won – in the 2006 elections on a mainly environmental platform.
As a Councillor on Tiny Township Council for the past four years. André understands well the challenges and opportunities for our community. André has proven to be a leader who listens, understands and evaluates fairly the many interests of the residents of Tiny. He has always been a strong advocate of the “Environment First” statement of our official plan and played an active role in the preservation and defense of our rich bilingual history and heritage.
André has represented Tiny on the Community Recreation, Historical and Heritage, Community Monitoring ( site 41), and North Simcoe Future Development BR&E Steering Committees. He has played a role on the Nottawasaga Improvement Plan, Champlain Celebration, and Summerama. André was Tiny Township’s representative to our Georgian Bay General Hospital’s Community Based Nomination Committee, which was responsible for interviewing and recommending candidates for the Hospital’s Board of Director’s. He also represented Tiny on the newly amalgamated hospital’s Re-branding Committee.
Experience & Ability
- Municipal Councillor, Township of Tiny, 2006 – 2010.
- Tiny Township Ratepayer since 1983.
- A Professional Engineer (who worked more than 28 years in both the private and public Healthcare Sector) with the necessary education and skills to serve on Council.
